Using Skype can lead to both individual and group calls over the Internet. It is even possible to see each other over a live video. Installation of Skype to be able to use Skype in the classroom, you have to download the software. The software itself is free of charge. The German online school program seeks to develop the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing with the goal of developing communicative competence and adequate literacy. The aim is to reach at least a Mid-High, preferable a Pre-Advanced stage of language acquisition, which can be tested in regard to the ACTFL (American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Guidelines or a level A2 on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference). Talented and motivated students can move to level B1, if they desire and are able to do.
